Regardless of whether you are an artist, a musician, a band, a painter, a comedian, an entertainer or any type of business person that is pushing a product or series of products, promoters and promotion are not only your friends, promotion is the oxygen to breathe life in to what ever you are putting out. Then, when you think about it, promoters are your life support. Now, you can be your own life support and run the promotional elements of your career but you have to do it right, effectively and productively.

Promotions for the artist of today have changed drastically and while the price tag in some areas has gone down, it is still going to cost you something and it is crucial to connect with a promoter that has a clear pulse of the what is happening today. Not to mention, that they have to know exactly how to do it.

Everything, from a song to an album, or a download to an auxiliary promotional item, all need to have the presence, recognition with solid music marketing strategies and push to grab the attention and get the sales. Even if your promotional marketing is pushing a service instead of an item, such as someone coming to see your show, coming to eat at your restaurant or attending any type of event, it still comes down to a sale.

The point is, whether you are doing all the promo yourself, hiring a promotion company or mixing the work with others, it is key to have everything ready, prepared and executed correctly. This does mean you are going to have to spend money! This also means you are going to have to do site promotion as well as advertising and publicity. It is not going to always be fun and yes it will be a chore. Promotional marketing is that last step in the creation project to bring it to the masses.

There are a lot of people out there that claim to be promoters, that claim to have a grasp on the scene today and make a lot of promises that do not come true. They make guarantees that are not backed up or make claims that have no substance. The truth is, you are going to need to have a budget, it is going to cost money, but you are also going to need to make sure it is with some one or a group that can deliver. They need to show you proof of concept and the results of what you need, just as you will need to supply the content, the videos, the audios and the pictures to help with the campaign.

When your fans, your customers and the people you are looking for, start looking for you, even if not by name, then you are building the foundation that will get you the exposure, the recognition and the results to succeed.
