Michael McDonough is an award-winning architect and industrial designer, and a recognized thought leader in energy efficiency and green building technology. Major projects include passenger facilities for Lufthansa Airlines in the US and Germany, corporate identity and offices for Frogdesign, Inc. in New York, Sunnyvale, Ann Arbor, and Austin, sustainable furniture collections for Atelier International, ICF, and Summit Design, exhibitions and trade fairs for a range of corporate clients; public structures; and numerous custom residential projects throughout the United States.
As a consultant McDonough helps clients capture and make use of high performance, and green building technologies, and energy efficiencies in their projects. He is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, New York Chapter; the Building Enclosure Council/New York, American Institute of Architects/New York Chapter; and the Marbletown Environmental Conservation Commission, Marbletown, New York. He served in post-911 urban planning think tanks for Lower Manhattan, these sponsored by the Regional Planning Associate and the Pocantico Conference Center. He also works on regional development issues, and consults on green schools, green agriculture, and urban and regional planning projects.
