Strategist Kelly Hoey is frequently referred to as a connector, master networker and expert community manager. This New York City based angel investor is recognized for her “boots on the ground” leadership in the startup community by her investment in and promotion of women in tech (so much so that Forbes listed her as “1 of 5 Women Changing the World of VC/Entrepreneurship”).
In 2011 Kelly co-founded Women Innovate Mobile, LLC (WIM), the first startup accelerator focused exclusively on fast-tracking the growth of early-stage mobile technology ventures with gender-diverse founding teams. Kelly continues to invest in as well as advise emerging technology companies and is a member of the board of directors of Glimpse Labs and of startup accelerators JuiceLabs and Tampa Bay WaVE. She mentors startups through various accelerators (Straight Shot, BuildUp, Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, JuiceLabs and Tampa Bay WaVE) and sits on the advisory boards of startups Rchery, Vizaltyics, and Genostyle. In 2014, Kelly joined Cuurio in the capacity of strategic CMO. A frequent speaker, Kelly has been invited to speak in front of members of the European Commission (on building startup communities) and at conferences/corporations (such as SXSW, IEEE Women in Leadership, PGA Championship, The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, Women In The Boardroom, Bank of America, Disruptors (Dublin)).
Kelly also curates and moderates the entrepreneurial focused “Meet The Innovators” speaker series for Apple’s SoHo retail location. She’s appeared on CNBC Power Pitch, NPR and Huffington Post (Live) and has been featured in Inc., Forbes, Fast Company, WSJ, Business Insider, eWeek, Business Observer (FL) and other media outlets.
