Max Perelman, a graduate from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), shares how to get a job in today’s market. Max, a successful green entrepreneur and film maker had a seamless transition from school to finding employment when graduating with an MBA and MA in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
Max is the president of American Environmental & Agricultural, Inc., an import/export and trade consulting firm specializing in environmental technologies and focused on trade between Asia and North America.
Max is also a LEED Accredited Professional and is the account director at BuildingWise, a high performance building consulting firm headquartered in Moss Landing, CA.
He has presented at a number of green building conferences including the USGBC’s Greenbuild and WestCoastGreen. He has also published articles in journals including the Woodrow Wilson Center’s China Environment Series.
Max previously worked as a business strategy consultant and eCommerce marketing manager where he engaged in strategy development, process analysis, and requirements gathering. After launching his career in San Francisco, Max lived in Asia for almost a decade, managing projects in Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok, and Tokyo. He speaks and reads Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.

Max lives in Monterey, California with his wife and two daughters where he leads a number of environmental initiatives for the mayor of Pacific Grove, volunteers for the local government as a Planning Commissioner and consults on green building projects.
Max attended Cornell University where he had a double major in Political Studies and Asian Studies.
